I made this for a friend of mine, whose daughter was turning 6. She had the CUTEST party decor and treats to match this cake. Can we say, "PINTERET"? LOL So much fun for the birthday girl and her little guests I'm sure! This cake is chocolate AND vanilla zebra striped inside and out. Buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant accents and french vanilla creme filling.

BRIGHT Pink and Green Zebra Birthday Cake
The birthday girl wanted hot pink zebra, lime green zebra, and traditional zebra . . . but I only had time for 2 tiers, so I chose to make the giant "11" out of rice krispie treat and use the traditional zebra there . . . chocolate and vanilla "zebra striped" cake, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents. A very "wild" cake but I think the birthday girl loved it, and so did I!
Easter Cupcakes!
Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents. The little eggs are Cadbury, my VERY FAVORITE Easter candy, mmmmm. I used the Wilton fondant mold for the little flowers and hand formed the little chicks. They are super easy, just make some circles, add eyes and a little beak . . . set atop a swirl of frosting (star tip) and voila, you have an Easter chickie! Easy peasie . . . My cupcake stand (also Wilton) looked so cute at our Easter picnic . . . I made both regular and mini cupcakes and I thought the whole dislay was adorable. :-)

Good Friday Baptism Cake
Baptism cake for Good Friday service at Valley Life. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling, buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant flowers.
I LOVE the Wilton fondant molds. They really make it easy to add some very fun fondant accents without taking all day, and can help turn a plain old cake into something festive and fab. :-)

Boise State Blue Turf - Tiered Birthday Cake
One of my most favorite themes: BOISE STATE FOOTBALL! :) Made this cake for my coworker's husband. Chocolate Fudge cake with buttercream frosting. The football is rice krispy treat covered in marshmallow fondant. Freehand logo. There's also a blue BSU jersey on there but you can't see it since the field is blue . . .ok, there's not really, and if you got that joke you must be a BSU fan!! lol, gotta love it! Go Broncos!
Bunco Dice Cake
This is a VERY simple cake . . . I couldn't sleep one night so decided to throw together a cake for the next days Bunco party. Chocolate and vanilla tiers, with buttercream frosting and the dice are marshmallow fondant.
Pigs in a Mud Bath-Happy Birthday Kit Kat Cake
This is a copycat cake of one that a friend posted on my fb page. It was so cute I had to give it a go, and here's the result. :) Yellow cake with chocolate fudge frosting and marshmallow fondant piggies . . . Of course the tub itself is KitKat candy bars. Grass around the bottom is buttercream. Even though its not my original design, still love it. ;)

Planes, Trains and Automobiles Baby Shower Cake
Made this baby shower cake to match the new mom's nursery. I'm happy it didn't look too "babyish." :) This cake is 9" and 6" tiers of golden vanilla cake with French vanilla creme filling, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents, hand shaped/cut. The airplane on top is rice krispy treat covered with mmf. Stayed up too late to perfect it but it was a crowd pleaser which always makes it worth it. :)

Baby Bird Baby Shower Cake
Spring was my inspiration for this baby shower cake . . . Ok, so it's still winter and only 40 degrees at the warmest part of the day, but we're out of the single digits and a girl can dream, right?!! ;)
This is a chocolate cake (6" tier and 9" bottom tier) with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting. All the decorations are marshmallow fondant, the birds, nest, and branches are hand formed and I used a Wilton fondant mold for the leaves and flowers. I was really happy with how it all came together!

Baa SHEEP Cupcakes!
These were super easy and super fun! Just piped on the frosting, then piped on the black frosting for the head, added the eyes and voila! Sheep! Lol. Made these for my Sunday school class at church, Christmas weekend. Our lesson was the nativity, of course, and the Lamb of God, so I thought these would be a fun little treat for the kids. They loved them, and I always love to see a smile on a face, so it worked out perfectly.
Polar Bear Christmas Cake
Polar Bear Christmas cake for our Miller Christmas party last weekend. I decided to have a little fun with it and aren't polar bears fun? I especially love the one swimming in the water . . . :) Vanilla cake, buttercream frosting, vanilla creme filling and marshmallow fondant accents, hand formed. I do love playing with fondant . . .

Snowman Christmas Cake
Surprise Christmas cake for my dear friend Darci and her family. :) Darci is one of those people who REALLY appreciate cake and cake decorations and the time it takes to do it. And I am one of those people who really appreciate people who appreciate . . . well, you get the idea, ha ha. At any rate, I knew that Darci had family coming into town and that this would be a perfect opportunity to surprise her with a cake the whole family could enjoy through Christmas. I even employed the help of her husband (who in turn, asked his son, who in turn asked his grandma, LOL) to get me a photo of their Christmas tree so I could see how it was decorated and try to coordinate the cake. Unfortunately, the photo was a little dark and had I known better I would have added lots of lime green and some red and green polka dots just to make it even more whimsical. I do think it turned out cute, all the same. Vanilla cake, vanilla creme (cake batter, lol, another story, another time) filling, buttercream frosting and hand formed marshmallow fondant accents. Darci loved it and I think they all enjoyed a little sweet surprise!
Penguin "Snowman" Christmas Cake
Fun little Christmas cake for a friends daughters choir fundraiser! Once again, I got to choose the design, as long as it was Christmas, which is my very favorite way to decorate a cake. Penguins are always a favorite, and I received lots of compliments on this one. I did search some cake photos online and then tweeked a cute one that I saw here: Link to Penguin Cake Photo I did change mine up, the snow penguin is all my own . . . brilliant, right? LOL
It's chocolate cake, raspberry filling, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents, and hopefully tasted as good as it was cute!

Isn't the little guy below adorable? I completely took that idea from the same photo as is linked above.
My 18 yr old 6'5" son has a thing for penguins. Cute, right? LOL. Anyway, he wanted me to make him one. I turned him down, but then changed my mind and made the below cutie and sent him text photo of it. He loved it. I guess you're never too old for a little penguin fun. ;o)
Poinsettia Bundt Cake (TRIPLE Chocolate!)
Poinsettia bundt cake for a Christmas celebration! Sometimes you just need to dress something up a little bit . . . before you take it out on the town. So I added some marshmallow fondant poinsettias to the top and called it good and we took it to a friends holiday party. The cake itself is one of my favorites, TRIPLE Chocolate Cake. My son and I like to call the frosting the WORLDS BEST FROSTING. And really, it IS, LOL. So so so fudgy. Don't believe me? Well, I'll post the recipes below and you can try it for yourself, but I warn you, it is so good you'll be asked to make it again. And again. And again. Luckily, it's not difficult so you can whip one up in no time!
Triple Chocolate Cake
1 devils food cake mix
1 small pkg instant choc pudding mix
4 eggs, beaten
2/3 cup veg oil (I always use canola)
2/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup water
1- 8 ounce container sour cream
1 cup semi sweet choc chips
for the frosting (glaze) :
1/2 cup white sugar
5 tablespoons butter
scant 1/3 cup milk
1 cup semi sweet choc chips
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a bundt pan. Mix cake mix, pudding, eggs, oil, sugar, and water. Gently fold in sour cream and choc chips. Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 60 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks. Make sure you let it sit a bit before You try to turn it upside down to remove from pan.
Now for the frosting. It would be a shame not to put it on this cake, it's so good. Bring sugar, milk and butter to a boil in a small saucepan. Boil for 1 minute (watch the time) stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add choc chips and stir until melted. Drizzle over cooled cake. (Slowly, or it will fall off the cake, maybe let it cool between drizzlings.) Enjoy!!!
