A Mary Englebreit inspired birthday cake for my mother in law. :0) 9" chocolate cake with French vanilla creme filling, buttercream frosting. And marshmallow fondant decorations. Was a big hit at our family dinner, mostly because the nieces and nephew wanted to eat all that fondant, ha ha.

Life is a Bowl of Cherries Birthday Cake

"Life is a bowl of cherries!" Mary Engelbreit themed birthday cake for my mother in law. I do love this design, it just says "happiness." :o) It's two layers of french vanilla cake with french vanilla creme filling and all buttercream frosting. Freehand designs. The bowl on top is cake, covered in buttercream. The cherries are just buttercream frosting with added powdered sugar to get a texture I could roll into little balls. mm mm mmm!
