The F words that enter our lives sooner or later: Forty and Fabulous! I do hope this chocolate cake fit the fabulous description. : ) Vanilla creme filling, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant. Mmmmmmmmm.

Jungle Baby Shower Cake

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, BABY! LOL. That's what I wanted to put on this cake, but wasn't sure the mom to be would approve of the kind of jungle the classic song refers to, ha ha.I tried to have a little fun with this jungle baby shower cake, anyway, and I really liked how it came out. It's vanilla with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting. All the decorations are marshmallow fondant and all are hand formed.

And the back:

No those are NOT real rocks, they're totally edible (and delicious!) mmf. Here are some closeups of the animals. Proportionately, that giraffe annoys me, but heres my defense: I stayed up until 3 am making this cake so it would be done and I'd be free for the BSU-TCU game (heartbreaker though it was!). By the time I finished I was a bit delusional, lol. Hence the monkey feet which are anatomically backwards, ha ha! Ah, well, still better than a monkey could do (I hope). : )

I think the hippo is stinkin' CUTE.

It was a late night, but I'd do it all again. Even to watch my Broncos lose. By one measly point. Sigh. Let us eat cake.

Teal and Brown Birthday with Polka Dots

Here's a fun little cake for a coworkers daughter. Teal and brown is her favorite color combo and she loves polka dots. The cake is vanilla with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant accents.

Here's the back . . .

Red Sox Birthday

Loved making this Red Sox cake for a good friend! It's chocolate with vanilla creme filling and buttercream frosting, with marshmallow fondant accents.

Boston Red Sox

A 9" 2 layer cake for my hubby. Cherry chip with vanilla creme filling and buttercream frosting. Note to self: don't let thevteenagers carry the cake. They are pleading the 5th, but this cake did not make it the table looking like this, lol. Let's just say it was a little "unbalanced." Kind of like teenagers.

Cougar Football End of Season Cake

For my favorite football players end of season (and end of their 4 years together) I made this big 22"x15" half chocolate, half vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate mousse filling. The cougar is hand formed from rice krispy treat and covered in marshmallow fondant. Love my Cougars!
