Seafoam Blue and Blush Ombré Wedding Cake with Horizontal Striping

Was HONORED to make the wedding cake for Ben and Carissa Clare, June 10, 2016! Their wedding at Still Water Hollow in Nampa, ID was so BEAUTIFUL.  I was glad to get to be a small part of it! Lemon cake with buttercream filling and icing. It's iced in an old-fashioned style with horizontal striping and ombré colors of seafoam blue and blush. I didn't know I'd be arranging the flowers on the cake myself (had thought they'd arrive "ready to place") but that didn't stop me and I thought they turned out quite well. 😊 On a side note, I was surprised to see local celebrity KTVB anchor Dee Sarton come out to direct where we could park to deliver the cake (I believe she owns/runs the venue). She laughed when I told her my husband hadn't listened when I tried to direct him there and said "they never do!" Ha! She also told me the cake was beautiful, and added "and I've seen a lot of wedding cakes!" What a nice compliment, right?!!

Buttercream Roses Pink and White Graduation Cake

Happy to get to make the graduation cake for my dear friend Darci's sweet baby girl. Can't BELIEVE she's old enough to graduate, holy moly! Top tier is vanilla (pink and white striped on the inside) and vanilla crème filling. Bottom tier is red velvet with cream cheese filling. Lots of buttercream icing. The grad cap and diploma are marshmallow fondant.

Bird on a Branch Birthday Cake

This cake was for my beautiful friend, Debbie. Chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and buttercream icing, with marshmallow fondant accents. Oh, and sixlets! The pearls are sixlets, now sold in bulk at Winco!!

Crown on Billowed Cake for Baby Shower

Crown cake and ruffled ombré smash cake for the princess granddaughter of a good friend. The technique on the top tier is called "billowing" and this is my first attempt. It took TIME, for sure! Big cake is chocolate cake with cream cheese amazing filling (lol), buttercream icing and lots of marshmallow fondant accents. The gold is achieved with colored marshmallow fondant, gold food safe spray and edible gold dust. The decor on the side of the cake is made with a fondant mold. Smash cake is vanilla with ruffled buttercream icing. It's a fun look, just takes a little time to switch out the icing color for every row.

Pink and Gold Princess Cake with Crown

This is for a good friend's baby girl, who still thinks she is a princess and really wanted a gold and pink cake, ha ha. WITH a crown, no less.i was more than happy to oblige, although the gold was a giant PAIN. I could have photographed my first attempt and turned it into a Pinterest FAIL, as that's what it was, lol. But I just scraped that off and started over…this fun cake is Neapolitan zebra on the inside(chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in case you forgot what Neapolitan was, lol), amazing cream cheese filling (I really think it is) and buttercream icing, with additional accents of gold glitter sugar, edible gold dust, edible gold spray and edible gold flakes. I have no idea how all that gold tastes, but at least she had the sparkles she desired for her party! And the CROWN. It's marshmallow fondant, hand shaped and decorated with gold paint, gold glitter and edible silver draggees.

All-American Basketball Cake

Destiny's All-American basketball cake! Vanilla with vanilla crème filling and buttercream icing. 😉 The figure is handmade from marshmallow fondant/gum paste, and the basketball is rice krispie treat covered with buttercream and marshmallow fondant. The cake does not do the basketball player justice, she is AMAZING. 😊 It was fun to celebrate her, though, with a fun little cake.

Elephant Baby Shower Cake

Baby shower cake for a colleague at work. Elephants are so cute and a trend this year it seems. I adapted this cake from another I saw on Pinterest, just tweaked it a bit. I see another trend in cake flavors, as this one was ALSO vanilla with vanilla crème filling and buttercream icing, ha ha. (Everyone loves that combo) The elephants, heart balloons and clouds are marshmallow fondant, touched up with icing coloring (painted on). I also made the cupcakes, chocolate with buttercream icing, in coordinating colors to match the cake.

Fondant Pansies Birthday Cake

Another simple cake, to say happy birthday to Annie, mom to my friend Michelle. (Both are my PEO sisters as well as friends!) This cake is also vanilla with vanilla crème filling and buttercream icing. It is as the first time I tried my hand at pansies: these are made by hand from marshmallow fondant and then painted with icing coloring. Purple pansies are Annie's favorite. 😉

Simple Congratulations Cake

This is just a simple one: for a colleague at work. Vanilla cake, vanilla crème filling and buttercream icing. The daisies are marshmallow fondant.

Little Mermaid Birthday Cake

Little Mermaid cake for Betty's wonderfully spoiled granddaughter . 😉
Strawberry cake with vanilla crème filling, buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant decorations (everything is hand formed except the pearls). The rock is  rice krispy treat covered with buttercream and marshmallow fondant.

Chipmunks Cake

I made this cake at the request of a couple I know who have a good friend who apparently had a problem with chipmunks in his lawn . . . there was some joke about it and they wanted to surprise him with a fun cake to reminisce, so naturally I obliged them. These little chipmunks and acorns are hand formed from homemade marshmallow fondant. The "dirt" is crushed Oreo cookies, and the "grass" is piped buttercream icing. The cake itself is French vanilla with chocolate cream cheese filling.

Red Carpet Stars Birthday Cake

A "Fabulous Fifty" red carpet birthday cake for my dear friend, Carrie! We celebrated this lady in Hollywood style, red carpet, stars and all! Chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese filling, buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant accents.

Love this photo of the birthday gal!

Skiiing and Golfing Mountain Retirement Cake

They finally did it! Chuck and Linda are FREE AT LAST! Congrats, Mom and Dad, so happy for you!!! Time to ski and golf and dance whenever your little hearts desire! You deserve it!!!!! This BIG retirement cake is chocolate for the top 2 tiers, and yellow for the bottom tier. Cream cheese filling, buttercream icing, and hand formed marshmallow fondant accents. I even found a photo of Mom and Dad in their ski gear, and made these two characters to match. :-)

And the HAPPY retired couple!

Simple Birthday Cake, Buttercream Rosettes

Just a very simple little cake for a celebration with friends. The birthday girl ended up being ill and missing her party, but we partied on without her. :-) This was vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling and buttercream icing.

Designer Barbie Birthday Cake, Purple and Pink with Black Accents

This is my sweet little nieces 6th birthday cake. It's the 4th year in a row that she's requested a Barbie cake, lol. I designed this dress by combining looks from a few different cakes, as well as images of Barbie clothing. It's definitely a one of a kind, lol. The dress is chocolate cake with a midriff of rice crispy treat, covered with buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant. The bottom tier is vanilla with vanilla crème filling. Lots of marshmallow fondant all over this cake, but no tylose needed, fortunately-the kids LOVE to eat that marshmallow fondant!

Couldn't resist adding a photo of my sweet niece with her birthday cake. ;-)
