Ruffled Purple Ombre Cake

Made this small ruffled cake for the daughter of close friends, who just graduated from high school. School colors are purple and black, but wanted a more feminine look so I opted for the ruffles and flowers. I probably should have arranged the flowers differently, but I still loved the effect. Chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and buttercream frosting. Should taste delicious! I bought 2 of those glass leaf plates, specifically so I could use one with this cake, and I think it's a great accent.

Rose Covered Cake

Made this for the daughter of a good friend . . . have never done this technique before, but I definitely will again, as I LOVE the look and it was not too difficult. This is vanilla cake with raspberry filling. Went along perfectly with the old fashioned theme at her daughter's graduation party. Oh, and I also loved the glass plate I found to put the cake on . . . shaped like a leaf, so pretty.

"Tiffany Blue" Graduation cake for Shauney and her friend Kendall. I loved the shade of blue, so pretty. Vanilla cake, raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. The grad cap is marshmallow fondant over Rice Krispie treat, and the diploma is mmf also. Congrats, Shauney!!!

Hot Pink and Zebra Striped Diva Graduation Cake

Diva graduation cake for my BFF Annella!  Congrats to her on a job well done. Cake was chocolate with chocolate fudge filling, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents, and some sugar pearls. Annella's nephew Elijah asked "Why is there a feather on that cake?" Well, it's obvious isn't it? Ordinary cakes don't have feathers, but this was a special cake made for a special lady, his Aunt Annella. She earned a "feather in her cap (cake)" and then some. I also made some monogrammed vanilla cupcakes to go with it, and glad I did, as they all disappeared, along with the cake! :-)

"Once Upon a Time" Cloud, Moon and Stars Baby Shower Cake

This was a crazy busy weekend, but I promised a friend at work I'd make this cake. See, they asked me if I couldn't do it, then who did I recommend? Aaaaaaand, I didn't have anyone I could refer them to. :o( So, I made the cake. LOL. And I'm really glad I did, because I actually had fun doing it and I loved the way it turned out. They had a nursery rhyme theme . . . Once Upon a Time, which I thought was so cute. Hopefully mom to be enjoyed the cake. It was chocolate with a sinful chocolate fudge filling and buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant accents. The baby is hand formed from mmf. The moon is rice krispie treat covered in mmf.

Bird's Nest Mother's Day Cake

Chocolate cake filled with both chocolate buttercream and French vanilla creme filling, then covered in vanilla buttercream. Flowers, bird and nest are all marshmallow fondant. Mama bird is even sitting on some little eggs . . . Made the flowers a pretty off-white to set them off from the white cake, and really like the antique effect that it had. Had fun delivering this to my own mother and grandmother, who both deserved a grand cake. :-)

Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake

M-I-C-K-E-Y . . . Oh, wait, this is a cake for MINNIE Mouse. :-) She deserves a song of her own, I think. I made this cute little cake for the granddaughter of a gal at work. She asked me to make it pink and I took it from there. Turned out it matched the birthday girl perfectly, so adorable. She wore a pink skirt with white polka dots and little Minnie Mouse ears on one corner.

This cake is vanilla with french vanilla creme filling, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents. The hat is made from rice krispie treat covered with mmf.

German Chocolate Birthday Cake with Chocolate Bow

Celebrated the 50th birthday of our good friend, Rich, and had so much fun! German chocolate was his cake request, so here it is. Used a new chocolate buttercream with a secret ingredient which was, in my opinion, amazing, lol. Also drizzled with my favorite chocolate fudge frosting. Coconut pecan filling and my first ever hand made chocolate bow topped it off. Yes, I made it!!  I was sure I'd break all those bow loops . . . Used whoppers as a sweet border. I have to say, it was not a bad tasting cake!

Zebra Striped Birthday Cake

I made this for a friend of mine, whose daughter was turning 6. She had the CUTEST party decor and treats to match this cake. Can we say, "PINTERET"? LOL So much fun for the birthday girl and her little guests I'm sure! This cake is chocolate AND vanilla zebra striped inside and out. Buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant accents and french vanilla creme filling.

BRIGHT Pink and Green Zebra Birthday Cake

The birthday girl wanted hot pink zebra, lime green zebra, and traditional zebra . . . but I only had time for 2 tiers, so I chose to make the giant "11" out of rice krispie treat and use the traditional zebra there . . .   chocolate and vanilla "zebra striped" cake, buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents. A very "wild" cake but I think the birthday girl loved it, and so did I!

Easter Cupcakes!

Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents. The little eggs are Cadbury, my VERY FAVORITE Easter candy, mmmmm. I used the Wilton fondant mold for the little flowers and hand formed the little chicks. They are super easy, just make some circles, add eyes and a little beak . . . set atop a swirl of frosting (star tip) and voila, you have an Easter chickie! Easy peasie . . . My cupcake stand (also Wilton) looked so cute at our Easter picnic . . . I made both regular and mini cupcakes and I thought the whole dislay was adorable. :-)

Good Friday Baptism Cake

Baptism cake for Good Friday service at Valley Life. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling, buttercream frosting with marshmallow fondant flowers.
I LOVE the Wilton fondant molds. They really make it easy to add some very fun fondant accents without taking all day, and can help turn a plain old cake into something festive and fab. :-)
